My Favorite Place

  • Bingo! Finally I got to the top of the mountain in Vireakchey National Park in Rathankiri Province. I could see a very huge area of the forests. I did hiking on to this mountain after I got-off the boat and passed the clumsy forest with many bite-insects.

Where Are You Planning to For This Holiday?

As many people prefer traveling to a natural tourist resort, I did a trip to Rathanakiri province that took about 10 hours on taxi. It took around 580Km from Phnom Penh where I am living to reach that place. Three times I have been there, I got twice to go a Natural National Park, Vireakchey and where was a very nice that have never been in life. It is my most favorite place.

I had to take a car from Rathanakiri town around 2 hours and continued the traveling by a small boat with small machine for about 5 more hours to arrive the park. On the boat I seemed to travel straight on to a mountain. When we met a small waterfalls we just stopped and pulled the boat oppositely from the water flowing. Big-large-crowded- trees are surrounding. Sometimes I could see wild animal such as pig, cow, and some others that I don’t really know their name.

When I reached the place I planned, in a tribal village, I just had rest at an indigenous house and then went fishing with older people. I was a very nice time for me on going fishing at night. Honestly, I was afraid of the crocodiles and some other animal. We got those fish for our dinner. The indigenous people have their own identity wine, jar wine that made from rice and some other hidden ingredients. I have to drink it or it is a custom for all guests have to drink that wine when they are invited. At night time, the weather was absolutely cool that I almost cannot stand with that.

In the early morning, I woke early to set on the fire and warm the body. I was surprise to see a musk deer. It was hunted by the indigenous people while they went hunting in the forest at night. I test with care to the deer meat. It was a fantastic meat I have ever eaten.

I got back in the late morning with some left meat and fish. On the way home, we went fishing along the river. Arrived a waterfall, we just relaxed and had a picnic with the meat and fish. Then we back home.

In conclusion, even the trip made me so exhausted, but it was a memorable time in my life. I remember every activity I had done. I will never ever forget it. If you are planning a trip to somewhere, I would suggest you to go to VireakChey National Park in Rathanakiri province, Cambodia.

I was ready to swim in the Yeak Loam Lake in Rathanakiri province, but I wanna try a photo before I swim. That time I was about to felt in to the water. However, the water was very nice cold. You have never experience swimming such this natural lake if you haven't been there.

We went to a water fall in Rathanakiri and we were about to try riding the elephant, but some of us were afraid. Taking this photo was a hurry captured because we afraid of the elephant hitting us.

Look at these Cambodian boys and you can guess who am I. When a friend has a wedding of their siblings, he or she always invite friends to enjoy wedding party together. This was in a quite rural wedding that we drive cars to join the party.

This group of playboys just finish playing card after a wedding party ended in SvayReang Province. Then, we didn’t sleep for a whole night, and here we were on the Vietnam duty free Hypermarket at the border of Khmer-Vietnam.

Whenever we look back to this photo, we always felt that we were very young compare to the next year we were. This is an extra-curricular activity that we went to the communities in order that we teach younger students on a specific topic and got some interview with older people for some experiences in life.

Though this is not a real Angkor Wat, but at least it represent that we have many temples in Cambodia welcoming tourists to come. This picture took when I went to a pagoda in order to get bless from the monks with a group of my friends.

This is a design of mine for my co-director's farewell party, Caroline. She will go back to Germany in a short future. So we all the students, staffs, and lecturers of DMC celebrate this party for her.
